Thursday 22 July
First day of tour, and already we have a delayed flight. Amphibious hydrofoil is the way forward people!
Paora and I are heading down to Wellington to link up with Hoovezini, Nicky Research, and Reno to rehearse ahead of our sold out show in the Wellington Town Hall.
After the hectic schedule of our Australian tour we are excited to have the luxury of only one show this weekend! We are all primed and ready to follow the All Blacks stunning example and bring the fire to Wellies \m/ If you managed to get a ticket we will see you there!

Wow!
What can we say…except that we were blown away by the Wellington love!
After a good build up (they say crap rehearsal, good gig) and a smooth soundcheck, Friday night at the Town Hall in Wellington had to be our most enjoyable performance in the capital city.
Feelings were running high after such a long absence, and pre show nerves and excitement were palpable. Killa Puha set us off on the right track with a rousing Karakia, and we never looked back. The crown were totally up for it…the kind of crowd that we love playing to, and who brought out our best.
I also had the chance to debut my new custom built gat!
Big shout outs and thank you to our Wellies fame, Freddy’s crew, Western Audio for a massive, brand new, earth-shaking soundsystem, and all who packed out the Town Hall.

Phew!
After a mammoth last weekend in Wellington, all the boys have recovered fully and are ready for the next round in Dunedin!
It’s been at least 3 years since our last show in the southern city, which seems ridiculous as it is one of our favourite places to play. This will be our first time in the Dunedin Town Hall however, and it’s promising to be even bigger than Wellington!
The boys are super amped for what will be the last big show for Shapeshifter until we hit Europe in October. (Wanaka still to come of course!)
Tickets are selling fast and are nearly all gone so please be quick if you want to come and party with the Shapeys! See you there \m/

What a night in Dunedin!
Our very first performance in the town hall really exceeded our expectations.
Our largest crowd yet in Dunedin made it known that they were there to party, and party we did! The venue was one of the best we have played in…next time though we will have to use the big organ at the back of the hall.
It was pretty freaking hot in the hall, which is usually the way in Dunedin, quite a contrast to the fresh southern winter air outside!
Afterwards most of us headed to the after party at Sammies for some on stage slam dunk shenanigans, and drunken drummer Mic Control hehe.

Here we are in Wanaka!
Paora and I have spent the last 4 days in this beautiful little alpine town. This place is definitely at the top of my list of fav places in Aotearoa. We spent most of the week boarding with the Sunshine crew at Cardrona while the Burton Open was buzzing around us. The boarding and skiing skills on display have been truly jaw dropping. It seems like the standards in snowboarding are increasing almost exponentially.
The rest of our crew arrived on Thursday and have been soaking up the picturesque serenity here before our crazy show last night. The energy in the venue was intoxicating to say the least! With some of the finest boarding talent in the world present, plus the up for it locals, the Lake Wanaka centre turned into one big mosh. Its time to do it all again tonight…bring it!
